Com tendências modernas surgindo, a década de 30 sofreu várias influências minimalistas e futurísticas. Essas influências serviram como base para o retrofuturismo sessentista, utilizado por vários designers como, por exemplo, Pierre Cardin e Paco Rabanne. O principal objetivo do retrofuturismo era recriar o futurismo dos anos 30, deduzindo como seria a moda futura. Acredite, as pessoas realmente achavam que no futuro as cidades seriam como nos Jetsons. Ao lado do movimento hippie, o retrofuturismo foi uma das principais tendências na década de 60. Ambos movimentos eram positivos em relação ao futuro do planeta: enquanto os hippies pregavam o amor e a leveza, o retrofuturismo modernizava e desvendava os anos 2000. Ultimamente, várias marcas andaram se inspirando no retrofuturismo - tanto que ele acabou na lista das principais tendências do verão 2014. O novo retrofuturismo tem como característica principal a mistura do prateado/dourado, que nos anos 60 eram vistos separados. Outfits cintilantes, brilhosos e em couro ou paetê também entram na tendência. Ah e não se esqueça do make futurista: olhar marcado e muito iluminador. With the coming modernists trends, the thirties underwent several minimalist and futurist influences. These influences were base for the 60's retrofuturism used by many fashion designers like Pierre Cardin and Paco Rabanne. Retrofuturism's main goal was to recreate the 30's futurism by deducting how would be the future fashion. Believe me, people really thought that the future cities would be like in The Jetsons. Alongside the hippie movement, the retrofuturism was one of the main trends in the 60s. Both movements were optimists about the future of Earth: while hippies preached love, retrofuturism modernized and unfold the 2000s. Lately many brands get inspired by retrofuturism ideas - so much that it became one of the main  summer trends of 2014. The new retrofuturism has as main characteristic the mix of silver/gold, which used to be separated  in the 60s. Bright fabrics, sequins and leather also are in. Oh and don't forget the futurist make-up: focus in the eyes and illuminated face. Above some retrofuturists picture for you.

A moda é dita como democrática, mas demorou para aceitar modelos negros e de outras origens. Afinal, a maioria das über models são brancas e de origem europeia. Acho que a única supermodel negra que  fez muito sucesso, foi a britânica Naomi Campbell - você conhece alguma outra? Talvez, a Iman, esposa do David Bowie. Até nos dias de hoje, modelos negros e de outras etnias - asiáticos, de origem indígena ou indiana, e mestiços - tentam conseguir um pequeno espaço no mundo fashion, que valoriza mais o padrão de beleza europeu. Há um tempinho, foi aprovada uma lei que diz que os eventos de moda no Brasil, como o Fashion Rio, devem conter, no mínimo, 10% do casting de modelos negros. Sinceramente, acho meio sem noção as marcas não colocarem modelos negras e mulatas em desfiles no Brasil - o país tem a população em sua maioria parda e mestiça. Ou seja, fica meio estranho nos igualarmos ao padrão europeu: nós não vemos pessoas loiras e com olhos azuis, em sua maioria, nas ruas, vemos? Enfim, hoje é o Dia da Consciência Negra e para esta data, preparei uma seleção de capas de revistas de moda com  modelos negras. Acredite, a primeira revista a ter uma negra como capa foi a Life, apenas em 1966. Tarde, não? 

Fashion is democratic, but took so long to acept black modelos and of other origins. After all most of über models are white and of European origin. I think the only black supermodel, who made a huge success was the British, Naomi Campbell - do you know any other? Maybe, Iman, David Bowie's wife. Until nowadays, black and of other ethnicities models - Asian, Indian, Arabs and mixed-race - try to get a little space in the fashion world, which values more the European beauty pattern. A little time, here in Brazil, a law was passed that says fashion events in the country, like Fashion Rio, must contain, at least, 10% of the casting of black models. Sincerely I think it's weird the brands in Brazil don't put black models or mulatas in the fashion shows - the country has a big mixed and mestiza population. It means: it gets weird we equalize in the European standard: we cannot see many blond and blue-eyed people walking down the streets, can we? Well, today in Brazil we celebrate the Black Awareness Day (Dia da Consciência Negra) and for this date, I prepared a list of magazine covers starring a black model. Believe me or not, the first fashion magazine to have a black model in the cover was Life, in 1966. Late, don't you think?

Enquanto fuxicava o site da badalada Vogue britânica, me deparei com uma matéria superdivertida escrita por Jessica Hogan, editora de beleza da revista. No artigo, Jess confessa que não sabe lidar muito com o cabelo e que, para resolver isto, aposta nas crown jewels - ou head jewellery, que na tradução significa joias para cabeça. Engana-se quem acha que elas são apenas feitas de pedras caras e preciosas; você pode encontrá-las em qualquer boutique,  lojas de departamento ou casas especializadas em acessórios. As head jewels são perfeitas para aquelas festas de verão à noite. E ainda, ajudam a disfarçar o cabelo num bad day hair. Eu confesso que caí de amores por essa tendência e não vejo a hora de ir às compras, hahaha. Então, vai ficar de fora dessa trend? Já adquiriu sua própria coroa, para reinar nas ruas da cidade? Se ainda não, separei algumas inspirações que irão te fazer suspirar e ir correndo comprar uma agorinha.

While taking a look at Vogue UK's site I came across a very entertaining article written by Jessica Hogan, Beauty and Health Associate Editor of Vogue. In this article, Jess confesses that she doesn't know how to take care of her hair and to solve this, she bet on crown jewels - or head jewellery, if you prefer this way. You're wrong if you think they are only made by gemstones; you can get them on any boutique, department or beauty stores. The head jewels are perfect for those Summer night parties. And it also helps you disguising a bad day hair. I confess that I'm in love with this trend and I can't wait to go shopping mine. So, are you gonna miss it? Have you purchased your own crown? If not yet, I selected some inspirations that will take your breath away.

Nem ainda estamos no verão e as passarelas já estão falando em tendências para o próximo outono/inverno. Para, nós, fashionistas de plantão, é a hora certa de anotar quais serão as trends dominantes da próxima estação. Pelo pouco que vi do Fashion Rio - infelizmente, não pude ver tudo, por causa dos estudos - o inverno será retrô. Como assim retrô, Iza? Bem, praticamente uma misturinha de início da década de 70, com o futurismo dos anos 80 e o minimalismo noventista. Complicadinho, né? O desfile, que na minha opinião, mais representou o próximo inverno  foi o da designer Patricia Viera. A coleção da carioca continha um pouco das três décadas citadas acima. Mesmo com um clima árido, as produções eram alegres e em tons vivos. Flores, estampas decorativas e franjas marcaram presença na passarela - e ao mesmo tempo, te transportam de volta 40 anos atrás. Na maquiagem, o objetivo era o foco na boca, com um batom cor-de-vinho poderoso. Desfile simplesmente lindo...

Eu quero: a jaquetinha de couro laranja com franjas. 

Summer hasn't come yet and the fashion world is already talking about Autumn/Winter trends for the next year. For us, the fashionistas, it's time to take notes about what will be the main fashion trends for the next season. The little I saw from Fashion Rio - unfortunetely, I couldn't see much, because of my studies - the Winter will be retro. How retro do you mean, Iza? Well, a little mix of early 70's folk, 80's futurism and 90's minimalism. A bit complicated, no? The fashion show that most caught my attention and, in my opinion, best represented the next Winter, was the Patricia Viera's show. The collection had a little of the three decades mentioned above. Even with the dry weather, the produtions were cheerful and in hot tones. Flowers, decorative patterns and fringes marked their presence on the catwalk - and at the same time, they transported you back 40 years ago, On make-up, the final objective was the focus only on the mouth, with a lipstick in a burgundy tone. Collection simply beautiful...

I want it: the orange leather jacket with fringes.
